The Gospel Story for Kids
We use The Gospel Story Curriculum in our children's Sunday activities.
Aiming to help children understand that the Bible is one story with Jesus as the hero
, the Gospel Story Curriculum focuses on Christ as it teaches children key stories from Genesis to Revelation that highlight God’s plan of redemption. This 4-year long curriculum grows with children by exploring the same Bible stories at three different learning levels, presenting the material in a fresh way each time to help children grow in their understanding of the Bible.
The Gospel Story Curriculum has an accompanying Bible story book and two devotional books to use in the home. There's also a Beginners version suitable for use with pre-schoolers. The Long Story Short and Old Story New can be used in partnership with what we're teaching on Sunday and we really encourage parents to use these books, 5 days a week, in devotions time with the children at home. A copy of the current devotional is available from your child's teacher.
In the infant curriculum, children are introduced to God’s big plan of salvation in Jesus Christ as they learn key Bible stories. Each lesson equips teachers to bring Christ to little ones with the help of a lesson snapshot, simple object lessons, colouring sheets, and easy-to-follow instructions.
The junior curriculum takes a more detailed look at how each of these Bible stories connects to the gospel. Through age-appropriate object lessons, activities, and colouring sheets, teachers can help young children to see Christ in the Old and New Testaments.
The developing minds of older children are challenged to search the Bible’s text through engaging activities in the senior curriculum. Using the same story content as the junior curriculum, the senior curriculum utilises different activities and object lessons suitable for their age-group. Reviewing the now-familiar Bible stories, older children will gain a deeper understanding of redemption in Christ as they begin to study Scripture for themselves.
