There are lots of calendar items to update you on this week!
This Sunday we will be sharing communion in the evening service at 7pm and will be hearing an update from Niyi Daramola on the work of WorldLink. Do join us if you can. If you would like to provide the supper for after the service you will be most welcome to pop your name in the rota. It's a lovely opportunity to spend a little time together in conversation on a Sunday evening. You can volunteer here: supper rota
Next weekend, on Sunday 31st we look forward to an update on the work at the Lighthouse in a little mission slot in our Family Service. Note that with it being the 5th Sunday of the month there won't be communion in the morning, and there will be no evening service. Why not take this opportunity to invite someone from church round for supper and share fellowship with other believers in your home?
Also on the 31st, the Young Adults and Students are invited for lunch at 1pm at the Milnes' home where Gillian, Angela and Fiona will be cooking. Do sign up as soon as possible so that they know how many to shop and cook for! Directions and cars will be organised once we know who is planning to go. Sign up now via the event link on the YA page on the church website.
Looking a little further ahead, we are planning a Ladies Night and a Church Fellowship Meal:
The Ladies Night will be a Christmas Ceramics event on Friday 19th November in the church where you will be provided with a Christmas decoration and paint to decorate it with. These will then be fired for you and delivered in time for using or gifting at Christmas. Do feel free to invite a friend to come along and join in the fun with you - tea and coffee will be provided too. The cost will be £12 per person and sign up is required as soon as possible to allow for organisation. (Note that Youth Night will still be on in the church - ideal for YN mums to drop off the teens and stay for some fun!) Sign up via the web calendar entry for 19/11.
The Church Meal will have a Thanksgiving theme and will take place in the church on Saturday 27th November at 6pm. All are invited to attend, but numbers will be limited by space at the tables! Add your names to the list on the website sign-up. You can book for different group sizes - a bit like how we were booking seats at Sunday services.
As always, if you have trouble with using the online booking option do just reply to this email or get in touch with Sally and let us know your details - we don't want technology to stop you from being able to join in!
And even further ahead, Christmas plans are being put in place - the choir has started rehearsals for the Carol Service which is planned to be held on Sunday 19th December at 7pm. The children's nativity play is expected to take place that morning. Other dates for Christmas will be confirmed soon!
A quick update on the job adverts: these have been shared widely with contacts in organisations, ministry training schools and other churches and a few conversations have taken place with people asking more - either for themselves or for people they have thought of. A closing date for applications has been set for 30th November. Do continue to pray about these opportunities as we look to the future of our work as a church fellowship at Hebron.
Lastly, it is looking like there will be no access by car to Summer Street this Sunday and for the following week (until Friday) for resurfacing work. Sunday shouldn't be too much of an issue in terms of paying to park, as most spaces are free until 1pm, you just won't be able to get very near to the door! If you are attending any of our activities during the week - all back up and running after the City schools half-term break - you will need to remember to bring cash to pay to park...
